What is a ROS head?
On most sex dolls the head is cast in one fixed shape. The mouth is slightly open and always stays that way. A ROS head has a hinged jaw inside, just like a real jaw. You move the lower jaw by hand and it stays in the position you choose: closed, half open or wider open.
This lets you adjust the facial expression, for a photo for example, and set the mouth in the position that feels most natural to you. When moving or storing the doll, you can simply close the mouth again.
ROS head or standard head
- Standard head (fixed jaw): the mouth has one fixed position. There is nothing that can shift or wear out, and the head is easy to keep clean.
- ROS head (movable jaw): the mouth can open and close and stays in the chosen position. You have more freedom in expression and pose. This head is mainly found on the more expensive models.

Do you need a ROS head for kissing?
No. We get this question a lot, and the honest answer is that you can kiss realistically with a standard head too. The lips are equally soft on both heads. The advantage of a ROS head is mainly that the mouth can open and that the jaw stays in the position you want. If that matters to you, choose a model with a movable jaw. If you care more about the body, size or price, the mouth type does not have to be the deciding factor.

Use and care
A ROS head needs little extra care, but a few habits keep the jaw supple for longer:
- Move the jaw gently. Open and close the mouth by hand, without force. Do not push it further open than it goes naturally.
- Do not lift the doll by the head or the jaw. Always support the body; the head is not made to carry weight.
- Clean the mouth after use. Rinse with lukewarm water and a mild soap, and let everything dry thoroughly before closing the mouth.
- Store the doll with the mouth closed or slightly open. That way there is no prolonged tension on the material around the lips.
