Know what problem you are checking for
Counterfeiting means falsely presenting a product as a particular brand or original. Delivering a different model, or delivering nothing, are separate problems. Save the exact description, photographs, dimensions and included components before ordering.
An inexpensive unbranded product is not automatically counterfeit. A high price and polished website are not proof of authenticity either.
Verify the shop independently
Look for a legal business name, address, contact details and terms. Check registration details in the official register and compare them: a genuine company number can be misused. Ask a specific product question and assess whether the reply actually answers it.
Read independent reviews, including complaints and their resolution. Few reviews alone prove little; conflicting identities, unclear terms and pressure to pay outside a platform together are more concerning.
Check the claimed brand
Compare specifications with the brand or manufacturer and ask whether the seller is known to them. Find out whether that particular model has an official verification method. Not every brand uses a certificate or code; either can also be copied.
Reverse image search can reveal reused photos, but legitimate dealers may share factory images. Request current additional photographs when the offered version is unclear.
Compare the full offer, not the headline
Check whether the price is for a full doll rather than a head, torso, accessory or deposit. Ask which taxes, options and shipping charges are included. There is no universal discount percentage that proves fraud.
Country of manufacture alone does not establish quality or honesty. For imports, verify the departure country, customs responsibilities and return address. Non-EU trade may make enforcement harder without automatically removing consumer rights.
If the delivery is wrong
Photograph packaging, labels and discrepancies. Keep the order information, contact the seller in writing and avoid using a potentially unsafe or damaged item. Ask the platform or payment provider about dispute deadlines if the issue is not resolved.
Smell, seams and loose joints are not conclusive authenticity tests. Plain packaging is normal for discreet shipping. Where possible, ask the manufacturer to assess identity; suspected fraud can also be reported to the appropriate authority. A refund cannot be guaranteed in advance.
