First time unpacking and installing

Last updated: 19. January 2026
In brief

This manual explains step by step what to expect when you first unpack a sex doll. You'll read how to safely remove the body from the package, how to attach the head (for different couplings) and how to secure the wig. Installation is simple and limited to these actions.

The first introduction to your sex doll is usually easier than you expect beforehand. With us, the body is always delivered completely ready to use. You do not have to assemble anything to the skeleton or the body itself. In practice, installation consists only of placing the head and attaching the wig.

With most models, we also supply a clean cloth already included. With this you can immediately put the doll down safely during unpacking and installation.

What to expect upon unpacking

When you open the box, the product may give off a slight odor at first. This is normal. The packaging is hygienically sealed during production and transport and remains completely closed until you, the customer, unwrap the product yourself. As with many new products that have been packed airtight, a slight odor may be released upon opening. This smell disappears after a short time, especially when the doll is allowed to air out.

Also, the skin may feel somewhat oily on first touch. This is because the material gets little air during storage and transport and is kept protected in the packaging. This is not a defect, but a normal effect of a new, unused doll. You can easily solve this by washing the doll briefly with lukewarm water before the first use, or by applying a thin layer of DutchDoll maintenance powder. The skin will immediately feel natural and pleasant afterwards.

Opening the box and taking out the body

Open the box at the top and first take out loose parts such as the head, wig and accessories. Then take out the body. The body is packed tightly to protect the skin. Always cut open packing material along the edge and never flat on the skin.

Lay the body on the cloth provided or on a clean sheet. Take a few moments to look at everything. Small creases or slight pressure spots caused by transportation are normal and usually disappear on their own.

Placing the head

There are different systems for attaching the head. Which variant you have varies by brand and production line. In all cases, mounting is simple and meant to be done without complicated operations.

Type 1: screw into the neck
With this system, you first screw the supplied screw into the neck of the body. Then you place the head on the screw and tighten it. The first time, this may feel a bit firm. This is normal and ensures a stable connection.

Type 2: adjustable quick coupler
Here you work with a coupler that you can adjust. The head is placed on the coupling and tightened. With a small adjustment (usually via a socket in or under the head) you can tighten or loosen the connection slightly.

Type 3: clutch fixed in the head
In this variant, the clutch is already mounted in the head. You don’t need to prepare anything. You simply place the head on the torso and click or press it into place.

Instruction: attach head

This is the easy base: put the head right above the neck, align it and gently press down until it is secure. No forcing is necessary. Work in small movements and check that the head is stable.

Fixing the wig

Most wigs have small hooks or elastic loops on the inside. You use these to pull the wig to size. You put the wig on the head, lift the hair slightly at the back and adjust the hooks until the wig fits neatly and comfortably.

Instruction: fixing wig

Put the wig on the head and gently pull it back until it fits snugly. Then slightly tighten the hooks on the inside until the wig sits securely. You usually only need to adjust this properly once. After that, the fit will remain neat with normal use.

First impression and reassurance

It is normal for the skin to feel slightly different than expected when unpacking. This is due to packaging and transportation. A short wash or some maintenance powder will instantly make the skin feel natural and lifelike.

Important to know: there is no complicated installation. You put the head on, attach the wig and you’re done. If you take your time with this, everything will soon feel natural.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why are gloves sometimes included?

Disposable gloves are included with some models to make unpacking and installation just a little easier. They are intended for those who prefer to avoid getting skin oils, hand cream or dirt on the skin during initial contact.

The use of gloves is not mandatory. Many clients do not use them. They are mainly intended as an extra hygienic option during unpacking or head placement.

Should I wash the doll immediately before using it?

This is not mandatory, but many customers like it. Because of the hygienically sealed packaging, the skin may feel somewhat oily on first contact. A brief wash with lukewarm water, or the use of a thin layer of maintenance powder, will immediately leave the skin feeling natural and comfortable.

Is it normal for the skin to feel different than expected at first?

Yes. A new doll has not had much air yet and has been in protected storage. As a result, the skin may feel slightly smoother or oilier at first. This disappears by itself after airing, washing or powdering.

Can I damage anything while placing the head?

In normal, quiet use, this is very unlikely. The couplings are designed to be firm. Work without forcing and align the head properly before tightening. Minor corrections are normal; no force is necessary anywhere.

Why isn't the head always already mounted?

The head comes loose to keep transportation safe and compact and to prevent damage during shipping. In addition, this allows the head to be easily changed or stored separately.

Do I need to use special tools?

No. Inserting the head and wig is done without special tools. A small Allen wrench is sometimes included with adjustable couplings, but nothing else is needed.
